I am up. Dont recall ever getting up this early in a long time…
Got back from the protest around 30 minutes ago and already uploading the pictures. Will offer link to the photoset once its done.
Kuwaiti Women Solidarity Protest. These aren’t my pictures my friend was using my digital mine will be up in a couple days (slide film)
It was a great protest I regret leaving now but I needed to get back to work. My Mom is now at the Parliament for the meeting so thats great.
They were lots of young faces there and very excited to be part of the movement. One thing that got to me was a lot of them were shouting slogans in English and Arabic. You can tell this was a very multicultural crowd and wanting change. I saw friends and family there which was great.
I didn’t hold any poster cause I was so busy running around taking pictures. I was wearing blue and believe that by being there and documenting it for people is good for the cause.
I have more pictures from my regular film cameras, cialis sale but they are slide and will take about a day to develop and stuff, but once I get them rest assured they will be on line as well.

Saw this on SaudiJeans about memorizing telephone numbers. It strengthens my earlier post on the future of domain names because of IDN and IPV6.
People have their own way of remembering numbers on their address book via nicknames or strange characters in the contacts info, cheap so why can’t we do that with domain names.
Like my blog for example. Its officially www.kuwaitblogs.com/users/nibaq/
But someone could have it in their personal DNS as nibaqsblogs.com or why even use .com and just have it as saviormachine.blog, anesthetist or something thats tagged based like nibaq.blogs.kuwait.
Thats another idea, a tag based dns system that is linked to your del.icio.us bookmarks.
I think ICANN will be dead in less than 2 years after the release of IPV6.

I think ICANN will be dead in less than 2 years after the release of IPV6.
So saw some options that seem better and more practical than the Timbuk2 and also read some sites complaining that the original owners of the company left and most of the manufacturing is in China so its not the same quality that was before.
And luckily found some pretty amazing messenger bag companies.
I like this company ReLoad I think I will be getting a bag from these guys the prices are reasonable and really look great. I am eying their Civilian model. It is well built has good pockets and straps, buy more about then there is the extra options that I can add to it. Which I really want and need. I also kind of torn for the Deluxe model it just looks rugged, but I think it too big for what I need.
For just size wise I am liking Cocotte. It is Canadian company from Montreal and really have a nice bag called Alfredo the dimensions of this bag are kinda of weird seems to narrow for my liking, but pictures of the way it open up to show off that a large size, and seems very tempting. Sadly there is no price available on their website or how to order it except from retail shops in Montreal.
Here is a pretty cool Hungarian company called Bagaboo they also offer customization, yet their bag sizes I think are a bit to big. Their smallest is 21″ wide. I am looking for a bag that is around 16″-19″ wide.
One company that is meeting my size requirements is Bailey Works these guys have this really great bag called 40 1K its a toned down version of their Courier 253 bag yet they are no pictures of what the bag looks inside, in terms of zippers and pockets. Price wise they are great.
Now for the hard core bag. Pac Designs make one mean bag, their slogan is “Built for Abuse, Engineered for Riding”. These guys don’t mess around at all and I am in love with their Deluxe bag. This thing is a menace has everything in terms of pockets and zippers but short in my width requirements but I can deal with that. It also has a pretty tough price around it but you get what you pay for. If I do go for these guys I most likely will get their simpler one calledStreet Scene. It has less options but still built to their standards and I dont think I would really use all those biking options.
Push the Envelope with their Metro bag it is the right size and look how practical it is with the pockets and easily it gets filled up.
What do you guys think? Which bag makes you drool the most?

Kuwaiti Women Solidarity Protest
Oh and people who uploaded to Flickr please tag your pictures with kwsp050307 so we can share and find them easier.
With talk in the comments and posts of MsBaker and in Expat and in many othersabout why weren’t there more people and especially women at the protest on Monday. I have my own thoughts on this matter.
First off people had other responsibilities being there at 8 is tough for people who have work and other stuff they need to do. I knew a good number of people who I thought would be the first ones there, hygiene capsule but didn’t show up due to them having to go to work or some other prior commitments.
I also put blame to the SMS that was sent around, visit this site practitioner it didn’t give us any agenda for the protest. It just said be there at 8. It wasn’t till the next day that I learned there was going to be a Parliament meeting that day. Then there was the question of what was going to happen when I got there. I had no idea that we were going to try to get in to the meeting, purchase and protest right at the door once the MPs started to arrive. This information slowly tickled down to me at the protest.
Also we didn’t have any idea when it was going to end. I think if more people had some idea for set hours they would have ditched work for 2 hours protested and gone back to wok without need to take a full day off and just reorganized their work schedule for that day.
One thing I noticed was there wasn’t many women in their 30-40s at the protest. It was all under 30 mostly and especially under 20 from what I saw. I overhead a conversation from 2 women in their 30-40s and they were there in 1996 for the last protest. They were excited for the turn out and I could tell from their voice that they dont feel this is their fight anymore. They let that part of them go and focusing on their careers and lives now.
So whats the way to get the women their rights and votes?
Start from the ground up, get those young girls who were there to get organized and united. These are the ones that should have the right to vote when they turn 21. They need to start lobbying hard to the MPs, getting petitions signed from those MPs’ voters demanding for that right.
Have planned events, to talk about the situation and really bring it out in the open. I dont think there has been a debate between the pro and anti crowds. I think that would be a great thing. Also give protests a good week notice so people can arrange their schedule. I really like Jewaira’s idea of getting a bus its a good way to gather mass crowds easily and quickly. One recent example is that Hizbollah protest in Lebanon all those people you would think they were from Lebanon but really just bussed in from Syria.

Today was spent running around getting my insurance and car thing setup so they can start work on it and fix it. Its going to take forever by the looks of it. I got the paperwork from the garage and then was on my way to the insurance company in Kuwait City so open a file with them when I got an sms asking for my blood type.
So I dropped what I Was doing and headed to the blood bank to donate. The blood bank hasn’t changed I think since last time I was there on a school trip. They really let that place go. What annoyed me the most was the watches there. They all had the wrong time, search I asked a nurse why is that. She said they been broken for 2 years. How the hell can you live with a broken watch in your office for 2 years? Talk about not caring about your work envoirnment.
Giving blood was easy, more about it was really simple I was given a questionaire in Arabic and I got really confused when they were giving the disease names translated to Arabic. They should have put them in parenthese in English so people could make sense from them. One question that was funny if I spent during 1980-1996 time that equaled or more than 3 months in England. I dont know of any Kuwaiti that didn’t spend time during that period that equaled ore more than 3 years. Everyone was in England back then. I always heard stories back in the 80s how this one kid used to go there every week to give blood cause they would give you juice and 20kd, and he saved up all those 20kds to buy a bike. Loves those urban legends.
I will defienetaly do it again in 3 months. I keep hearing about how bad blood shortages get and blood donated only lasts for a month before they have to throw it away and there is always people needing it. I can tell you its a really simple and takes no more than 30 minutes to do and you will be saving someones life
Here is a link to picture of the needle going in, and one with the blood pumping.
I got my insurance stuff done, now its all between teh garage and them to discuss it. I will return to insurance guys on Sunday to see about my rental car til my car gets fixed. It will be a week then since the accident and still my car hasn’t been touched. It is really disheartening to know I will be waiting, I miss her.

I saw the new Lexus GS yesterday when going home and had to do a double take when I saw it. It just looks so impressive and wow. Since I am still running around with fixing my car I got a change to see it atAl-Sayer and even closer its impressive the way the curves are, cialis and its so roomy inside. I only got to see the 300 model and the rims need to be replaced for it to give it that extra uNF, sovaldi sale but they said the 430 model (damn thats fast) has really better rims. In my opinion stock rims only look good on German cars.

It will be a week then since the accident and still my car hasn’t been touched. It is really disheartening to know I will be waiting, I miss her.

With all the talk on politics and womens rights and stuff I’ve actually written some posts and just shoved them in draft till I can take them out and just finish out the thinking process on them.
So far one is concerning the womens rights and how its not organized in Kuwait and its the young girls that need to take action, information pills and dont expect anything from the older generation of women. They fought for it earlier and lost now they are focused on their families and careers its the younger generation that need to take charge cause its their fight and right when they turn 21.
One is about democracy. I am not a fan of it really its the best we got but they are lots of idiots out there that mute the voice of the wise. I’ve always been a fan of capitalism and think thats what we need to fight for in Kuwait. An open system where wasta and money doesn’t matter but who can do the job the best with the least cost. Imagine a government that was totally capitalistic it would decrease its cost and be productive to help the people the best it can. Also information in a capitalist society is open so everyone has the same access to that information to make their own decisions.
Then there is my Politics Product Cycle. It based on the the standard product cycle graph with early adopters to laggards. I use it to show ideas in a society in terms of politics like womens rights. I think we are in the second stage of the women’s rights product cycle. The early adopters who were the ones from the 70s-90s who pushed for it, sales and now we are in the second stage of it with its growth cycle. I state that we are now in the middle area cause I believe the idea has reached around 50% of the population and we just need to push it and convince more people to hop on our bandwagon to get it to the second growth cycle.
Hopefully I will have time to write more about these ideas in detail. Though at least I put it out there and not have it sit in my drafts section thats has 22 posts waiting for me to finish and publish.

Depressed and annoyed with the issue over my car. The problem with that the frame got bent when the other guy hit me. This will take a very long time for it to fix to pull and strech it back to its normal place. This makes that area of the car very unsafe if I get hit again there it will do lots more damage. Also with a broken or bent frame the car value drops like a rock, website which means it pretty much worth nothing in the resale market.
Tomorrow I will get more information from the insurance company and the garage and see whats the story. I am going to push them to just value it for it me and just give me the money for a new car.
We’ll see.

I love Aramex it is a life savior in Kuwait when dealing with mail, viagra order
magazines and online purchases but one thing that sucks about it and makes your day go GRR is when they already shipped packages to you that day and the one you wanted arrived just afterwards so you have to wait a couple extra days for it to be sent to you.
Hopefully they will send it Monday there so it will arrive on Thursday here.

I think its time for me to create my own Jabber server for chatting with my friends privately and securely.

Just got back from the garage to talk to the guy there about it. He gave me some good news, stuff
they checked under it and said it is not the frame that is broken/bent but the crossbar and will cause no problem to the value or the cars driving and once they get the permission slip they can start working on it and will take up to 20 days to fix.
So with this information I will get a rent a car from the insurance company. The car I am driving now is a death trap in the rain. Any puddle or crack in the road and the car jerks violently to the left or right. It is not safe at all. I have to keep both hands firmly gripped on the wheel to make sure I dont swerve.
I am going to be an asshole of sorts when it comes to the rental car and figure I should have some fun. I need a SUV for my work and where I go, vitamin
but I am thinking in pressuring them to hook me up with a mini van. But it has to be one of the cool minivans like the Toyota Previa. Chances are they will screw me over and give me a Daewoo or a Lada.

It has less options but still built to their standards and I dont think I would really use all those biking options.
Push the Envelope with their Metro bag it is the right size and look how practical it is with the pockets and easily it gets filled up.
What do you guys think? Which bag makes you drool the most?

Crash into Me
Something to think about when people go camping.
Something to think about when people go camping.
I was taking a shower this morning and was thinking about politics, page marketing and what to wear. When I started mix mashing thoughts and came with this question: “Does politics have a product cycle?” .
A little track back on the product cycle. They are marketing terms for a product, on how and when does it get accepted into the market.
In the cycle they are 4 main categories:
- Early Adopters* First 15% – 20% that adopt the product. These are the people on the cutting edge. So cost doesn’t mean much to them, they also influence the next group.
- Early Majority Next 30-35%. This is where the money comes in and when it gets accepted in the market. This is also when competition starts coming in and fighting for market share
- Late Majority Next 30%. The last part of the money train people have accepted the product and its become a house hold name and their are lots of competitors in the market.
- Laggards Remaining 20%. Here is when the product stops really making money and the early companies with this product stop doing it.
So how does this relate to politics.
One good current example is women’s rights in Kuwait.
I think the struggle started back in the 70s-80s and thats when early adopters came in with this idea and belief. Of course they were in the minority. Yet still with this 20-30 year period I don’t think we have even got near to the Late Majority stage. Cause to me if feels this movement is right down the middle now with the people who want it and the ones who are against it, and there will always be some people who are even after it gets accepted.
So in conclusion its coming, there is no question about it, it will come and be accepted. Yet what I am already thinking about now is whats next? What will be the next early adopter movement, and that is what is scares me a little.

I have this strange fascination with numbers, store I love just looking at them and figuring out some weird pattern and such. One place for random number combinations that I love are with license plates on cars. I’ll look at the numbers and try to figure out a pattern or even random ways to memorize the numbers.
Here is an example from a car outside.
138799
So its +/- 1, injection 3 times with 8.
8 8 8
-1 +1 +1
7 9 9
I know most if not all of you will go wtf that doesn’t make any sense at all, health but some how it makes sense to me.
So now to make matters worse I have this site: What’s Special About This Number?. That shows some mathematical facts to numbers.
Like 138:
138 is the smallest possible product of 3 primes, one of which is the concatenation of the other two.

My dog died today. She been quiet sick for a while with tumor and just being old in general. I never had the heart to take her in to get euthanized it just seemed wrong to me. If she was going to die at least in her own home and not some clinic.
I feel some what guilty for not giving her attention. It isn’t without reason cause one night a couple weeks ago when I came home I do what I always do go and pet her and she got feral with me and bit my shoe. Luckily I didn’t get bitten but it scared me. She never did that with me before even when she eats I can get close to her and not worry. So that occurrence just made me afraid of her and didn’t want to get too close.
Now I have to carry my house keys with me. Before since she guarded the back entrance we never had to worry about locking the door. Whenever I came home I’d lock it, page and if there were anyone trying to break in she would bark and do her stuff. Now that she is gone its going to change.
I dont remember when we first got her, must have been back nearly 10 years now she was a good dog and will be missed. I dont know if we will be getting a replacement anytime soon, and I doubt we will.

Finally going to get a new bag. I love messenger bags to me they are made for walking around in cities and to carry your life in. My current and always favorite is my Timbuk2 PeeWee I got this bag back in 1999 and I have taken this thing literally around the world. Its been the best, syphilis back when I just wanted something for my CDs Cd Player, hemophilia books, notepad and just stuff I picked up during that day. Even when I got my iBook it was perfect.
I tried many times to convert to other bags other the years, one memorable one that really sucked was the Tumi messenger one. Size wise it was great big and had good pockets and very formal, but they really screwed up when they designed that strap it hurt my shoulder and back, and when I found a replacement strap it also didn’t work cause the bag hooks were too high making the bag hang really low pulling on my back. So that was scrapped.
I even tried the Jansport one that could do everything be a messenger bag, also as your standard shoulder back pack. It also had good compartments and stuff. Yet when I filled it with stuff from my PeeWee the bag looked huge and just didn’t compact stuff. It would be a great bag for weekend trips and and chalet stuff, but not as a daily bag for running around.
So now I am looking again, and even thinking of a bigger bag. I checked out Crumpler and they got some nice designs but really didn’t seem practical. My friend recommended to me Chrome Bags. Theses are totally hard core messenger bags I got one of their Kozmo.com ones that I think is the large and it rocks. Really made for carrying stuff and moving around. It has a seat belt buckle for the release strap and the design and pockets are very practical and designed right. Yet I think these are just too hardcore for me, and I already have one their larger ones.
So looks like I am going to get theTimbuk2 even if they are the more expensive ones compared to Crumpler and the Chrome. I was thinking of getting their laptop series one called Commute. It looks great, has side pockets, and padded protection but their straps are like the Tumi and Jansport not sewed in, but clips which I hate. They are very tempting but after much thought I am going for the regular messenger bag and just buy the laptop protection thing separate. I figure I need a bag for my life and to have it fit everything, and not necessary be focuses on the laptop.
Now the hard part is figuring which colors to get it in cause I plan to use their build your own bag feature. Get some basic simple colors thinking Grey/Navy Blue, some dark colors.
Will keep you updated still checking out some other companies for their designs and comfort.

I was at the diwaniya last night and one of the topics that came up were the womens rights thing and I got to hear some of my of the thoughts of the older generation with this subject.
First of was what if a women was running for office, diagnosis how would she campaign? One thing we have in Kuwait is the diwaniyas and how they are very male oriented. If she was going to run for office like her other male counterparts she would need to go visit the diwaniyas and be accepted there.
Which leads to another thing, pathopsychology
she won. Some of the men who are her constitutes would have to visit her for problems and favors, and some men even married still have trouble talking to another woman. They were brought up avoiding women, so it will be something new for them. The most likely thing is that they will be sending their wives for this.
Also they felt that with this right, women in Kuwait will actually lose some of their rights. Already they have some pretty good job security, get longer and a paid maternity leave that even European and American women envy. So this may take away from the benefits she already has since now she will be come some what equal to a man. So no more leaving early to pick up kids, she will have to clock in hours like her male counterparts.
Another thing is when a women would reach higher level in the public work force. She could go two ways when it comes to dealing with the women who work under her. Either be tough and treat them the same as the men in terms of work load, vacation time etc. Or be very lenient with them.
Yet the men dont think any women will be elected to office anytime soon. I agree with them on it you can just look at other countries that women got the vote in and how long did it take for them to be elected in to office or even reach to be president or prime minister. It takes around a generation to adjust everything.
Just some thoughts that are going around in mens mind. There was this quick poll last night about it and a majority of men said yes to it. So overall I think the feeling of the country is down the middle with this issue.

Got in a car accident today on my way home from work. So was going up the 4th ring road bridge under Airport road when the car in front of me slammed breaks, anaemia I hit mine and didn’t hit her car, public health then the car behind me gave me that extra push to hit her. Luckily nothing happened to her.
When I went out to look at the damage to my car the lady got out looked at hers and got back in and drove off.
The guy who hit me was pretty cool Indian guy he was so nervous when he saw me as Kuwaiti, thought I would be all aggressive and stuff. I was calm offered him water, told him to chill with me in the back seat of my car to watch a DVD or play some video games as we waited for the cops to come.
So now lets track back on the process on filing a report so you can fix your car:
So after the thing happened I started calling 777 to have them send a cop over.
I tried calling again and again, cause it would ring then disconnect, even when I got someone to answer it would disconnect. Luckily I got a hold of the operator and told them there was an accident, and firs thing out of her mouth was “is anyone hurt”. I really was comforted with those words, shows that they are concerned about it especially with all the accidents we have in Kuwait.
So we waited then the cop guy came and pretty much didn’t do anything but move the other guys car. Seems if its a basic fender bender you guys trade driver license and registration and drive to the police station to file a report. No need to wait for the cop I guess.
The cop told us to go to Qurtoba station to file the report since it was closest, if no one is there to go to the Omariya one. We drive to Quortoba and what do we see an abandoned police station, so we have to goto the Omariya one. My GPS didn’t show one in Omariya but one in Farwaniya, so we figured thats the one.
We get there and its just people hanging out, one cop was sitting and playing with his sub machine gun, delivery guy leaving one of the offices. Seemed like hang out more than a police station. We talk to a cop and say we came from the accident area. He told us we shouldn’t be here and go to the Omariya one.
So we drive to Omariya station, we get in and they are 2 cops sitting on each wall by the entrance just hanging out. They said the Inspector guy who writes the report isn’t there, so we have to go back to Farwaniya.
So for you people who are still reading Quortoba -> Farwaniya -> Omariya -> Farwaniya
On the way back my Mom calls me, she didn’t ask where I was or anything first thing she said “you better just come back since most of the people at the police station are either sleeping or eating now” How right she was.
So we are back in Farwaniya, we see the cop again who told us to go back to Omariya, we inform him what happened and he said well then go see the Inspector guy.
We go to him inform him what happened said go to the super market next door and make photo copies of our papers. And right next to him was a photo copier. We figured this was some sort of shake down and the guy must get some cut from the photo copy place.
At the photo copy place we didn’t have to tell the guy there anything he took our stuff silently and just made the photo copies.
We go back to the guy, and give him our papers and ignored us as he is talking to some guy next to him who is working with his phone. The Indian guy with me wants to say something but I cover my mouth and laugh.
After a bit of wait he did our paper work, but said we can only pick the permission slip to fix our cars on Tuesday after magreb prayer. He said after magreb prayer cause he starts work at 1:30 but won’t gaurentee he is there until after the prayer… I know its annoying.
So from the time of accident toil we got done took us about 2 and something hours and lots of driving and stuff, but still we aren’t done until Tuesday when we pick up the slip so we can fix our cars!

I saw this link: flickr world map on ForzaQ8 and was just amazed by it.
It shows you Flickr pictures from world cities. Just at locations and the density you can tell that is a developed area with internet. Just lookat India, visit web its only area is down where Hyderabad which is India’s silicon valley and no where else.
This is something to keep watch of.

They are slowing getting rid of those old building down in Kuwait city. This is a mixed thing. Its good to get rid of those decaying buildings and bad cause they been there so long we kinda got used to them.
So I went there and took pan pictures of it from behind and some from infront. So that there be some history of it.
The Location is behind Jashalmall across the street from Muthana Complex or N 29 21’53” E 47 57’52”.
