We had a great 20 days, treatment
just sitting at home spending time together and just respecting the other persons boundaries and stuff. I wish it could have lasted longer, but these things usually end with external forces coming back in to play.

I visited the art showForza mentioned earlier. I have to say that it was a show that contrasted of Arab life. One on left you had May Al-Saad’s vibrant colors of people dancing and fighting. The on the on the right was Samar Al-Bader’s more cooler colors with people sitting alone, read or of a quiet landscape.
I think having them in the same room open to each other was a very bad idea. For once you walk in the first thing you notice is May’s side with its strong colors of red, and yellow. You were just attracted to that side and simply ignored Samar’s. I had to push myself back to Samars side to really take in her paintings. Sadly I gave them second notice due to the magnetism of May’s.
Both had very simple and quiet brush strokes, pushing and gliding the oil paint to where they feel it just right. You can even tell they are good friends and spend time with each other and also inspire each other with some of the similarities in their stroke.
Yet I am seeing a rift between then, May is moving to more dynamic and modern art style one example is Eid in Sharqia. She is moving to more expressive strokes. While Samar is moving to more classic, refined approach to her paintings with her subtle strokes. .
I see great promise for these two artists. They both come from the same root yet now branching apart, but still inspiring each other. I do suggest at their next show together to either put divider to separate their paintings. Or one which I think would be a great idea is to collaborate to pick one topic and create a painting each inspired from it and place them next to each other. I think this would create a ying yang feel. One one side you would see Samar’s classic and calm, then on the other May’s modern and loud. Thus giving you the full spectrum of the inspirational piece.

The other thing I miss about the US was going to see live shows. I was a fan for the music, sick the crowds and just that vibrant feel of life and it was all Ozzy Ozbourne’s fault.
For that was my first big concert and rock show and I remember it fondly. I had not idea what to expect. I knew Ozzy was crazy and ripped a pigeons head off, ailment and my knowledge of his music was limited to his last album. Yet when he got on stage and the fans went crazy I was so confused and dumb founded. People were moshing, banging heads just going all out. At fist I just watched then the feel just got a hold of movie and I jumped in the pit. I was having a good time pumping into people and then some guy came right at me and hit me right in the chest. I must have flown 3 feet back on the grass. He came to me and asked “you ok?” I replied “yes” as catching my breath as he grabbed my hand “good then get back in there” and tossed me back in the pit. It was great.
The memorable event of that show was the encore. He played Crazy Train, and told us to do pretty much go crazy. One guy climbed up a 15ft wall, people were taking of their shirts and lighting them on fire and running around in circles. It was all out freak show and I was a part of it and Ozzy was our ring leader.

Last night I had another attack of bad service at a food establishment.
First let me say how much I feel about service. To me it is one of the breakers or makers at a place that I wish to eat at and will frequent. What I consider good service is promptness, ailment respect and my main thing is acknowledgment. I hate it when I go to a place and they just ignore you, price and this is anytime during my visit.
For me when an establishment, like a restaurant where I am going to be giving them money for the services they render feels they can slack off or just ignore me makes me feel that they dont deserve my money. I get this feeling that I should just walk out and not even pay for anything.
This happened to me yesterday with Burj Al-Hamam. I felt the service was lousy cause they weren’t acknowledge me. They have this reputation for being a good place to eat with excellent food, decor etc. This I believe has gotten to their head and ignore their customers since they feel if they lose me someone else will take my place.
With their arrogance they forget that word of mouth is one of the greatest marketing tools, and bad reviews people remember more than the good ones.
So back to last night it was with Hagen Daaz at Souq Sharq. The service their just sucked, we were waiting outside for someone to notice us, nothing. My dad went inside to get their attention, they came out with a menu and then forgot about us. The waitress came around us, past us, but no look. Didn’t even bother asking if we were ready to order.
Now what is different between these to places was that Hagen Daaz is a simple place and the employees there just really dont know any better. So Even though I was annoyed and told them I couldn’t hold it against them. Burj Al-Hamam on the other hand is a reputable place and which strive to a better and higher level of service.
Customer service seems to be a problem in Kuwait. Many places are focusing on marketing campaigns and decor etc and neglecting their customers. Yet I believe what all these customers are looking for is acknowledgment.

For me design isn’t just something that looks pretty it has to serve a function too. When objects have a dual purpose but do it some wonderfully together and just are seamlessly together you can’t think of how they can be apart or even existed before.
One such object that has really caught my eye and can’t wait to have it on myself is the Targets new perscription bottles. WOW, allergy Deborah Adler has designed it right! She took all the wrong thigns with the old bottles and made it useful functional and also look good. I just love how she created this system for the information. It really makes sense and very practical. My favorite part from it is that it is upside down:
Klaus Rosburg, infection a Brooklyn-based industrial designer hired by Target, came up with an upside-down version that stands on its cap, so that the label can be wrapped around the top. Every piece of paper in the package adds up to one eight-and-a-half-by-fourteen-inch perforated sheet, which eliminates waste and makes life easier for pharmacists.
Wonder how long before we see those in Kuwait?
Another great design with function is these pizza cutters. They are ussually bland and with a straight handle. These just take them to a whole new level of comfort with that handle grip but then just takes breaks all barriers when he pimps them out like choppers!

I must have racked over 1000km on my car. My schedule last week was:

Tues: Sulabiya, Amghara
Wed. : Shagaya
Thursday: Wafra
There was also the side trip to Mutlaq on Wed to get high.
It was just one thing after another this past week, and since I been out of the office with these runs when I came in today I was confused on what to do. Need to write a todo list of stuff for this week and stuff that I need to complete from last week.
Need a vacation from vacation to actually catch up on stuff.

I let Rampurple borrow some books of Marshall McLuhan for her research paper.And I actually had a hard time giving them to her cause just opening them up and reading passages from the pages just makes me want to take them home and read them again.
McLuhan was a pioneer when it came to this stuff, decease his works really changed my outlook on media and content. I think it was cause he wrote it around the 60s and this was before internet and satelites and just his form of writing and the style of the book. He was really ahead of his time.

One such object that has really caught my eye and can’t wait to have it on myself is the Targets new perscription bottles. WOW, allergy Deborah Adler has designed it right! She took all the wrong thigns with the old bottles and made it useful functional and also look good. I just love how she created this system for the information. It really makes sense and very practical. My favorite part from it is that it is upside down:

What happened to the weather today? I was awake at 7:30 nice weather outside birds chirping, ampoule

by the time I leave and go with my brother for his paperwork stuff it turns to an all our dust storm. Then traffic just goes crazy, purchase
I was going to take the 5th ring and saw traffic stopped on the King Fahad/Magreb road, so go and take the 6th. Then then as I am going on the 6th I see traffic stopped on the King Fahad/Riyadh road.
The streets have turned to a mad house with this weather.

Last night I had another attack of bad service at a food establishment.
First let me say how much I feel about service. To me it is one of the breakers or makers at a place that I wish to eat at and will frequent. What I consider good service is promptness, ailment respect and my main thing is acknowledgment. I hate it when I go to a place and they just ignore you, price and this is anytime during my visit.
For me when an establishment, like a restaurant where I am going to be giving them money for the services they render feels they can slack off or just ignore me makes me feel that they dont deserve my money. I get this feeling that I should just walk out and not even pay for anything.
This happened to me yesterday with Burj Al-Hamam. I felt the service was lousy cause they weren’t acknowledge me. They have this reputation for being a good place to eat with excellent food, decor etc. This I believe has gotten to their head and ignore their customers since they feel if they lose me someone else will take my place.
With their arrogance they forget that word of mouth is one of the greatest marketing tools, and bad reviews people remember more than the good ones.
So back to last night it was with Hagen Daaz at Souq Sharq. The service their just sucked, we were waiting outside for someone to notice us, nothing. My dad went inside to get their attention, they came out with a menu and then forgot about us. The waitress came around us, past us, but no look. Didn’t even bother asking if we were ready to order.
Now what is different between these to places was that Hagen Daaz is a simple place and the employees there just really dont know any better. So Even though I was annoyed and told them I couldn’t hold it against them. Burj Al-Hamam on the other hand is a reputable place and which strive to a better and higher level of service.

When checking out Mahmood’s blog I saw this post that Bahraini website have to register with the Ministry and will face legal actions based on the countries laws and regulations concerning the press.
I am mixed about this.
First I think it is a good thing for websites that consider themselves journalists and run a media site. This can have them considered a company and also some what protection. A lot of US bloggers are actually working on having their blogs considered a journalistic site, pharm and giving them equal status to print media companies.
Why it is bad, adiposity well it is forced and we know that the Bahraini Ministry is just doing this to keep track of the anonymous people that are posting about the problems and issues they are having with the government. Just look at what they did to people who were and could be found. So automatically their motives are not for the benefit of the people. Another thing what is considered a “Bahraini” website? Websites run by Bahrainis? Or what about expats living in Bahrain, will they be under this law? Or is it just for the websites they they dont like?
Our problem in the Gulf is that governments still think they can control what we read, watch and listen to. They act like they are waging an on going battle, but the truth is we already won the war. They have tried on numerous occasions to censor internet, ban satellites, black out magazines etc and that information still gets through to us. These aren’t black boxes that you can stop at borders, but ideas and thoughts that are going to shared, discussed and shared again.
Mahmood is setting up a good program for this situation in order to deal with it accordingly. And I pledge my full support to the Bahraini bloggers, this is not just their fight but ours as well. If this succeeds in Bahrain, who says we aren’t next?

It was just one thing after another this past week, and since I been out of the office with these runs when I came in today I was confused on what to do. Need to write a todo list of stuff for this week and stuff that I need to complete from last week.
Need a vacation from vacation to actually catch up on stuff.
I let Rampurple borrow some books of Marshall McLuhan for her research paper.And I actually had a hard time giving them to her cause just opening them up and reading passages from the pages just makes me want to take them home and read them again.
McLuhan was a pioneer when it came to this stuff, decease his works really changed my outlook on media and content. I think it was cause he wrote it around the 60s and this was before internet and satelites and just his form of writing and the style of the book. He was really ahead of his time.

by the time I leave and go with my brother for his paperwork stuff it turns to an all our dust storm. Then traffic just goes crazy, purchase
I was going to take the 5th ring and saw traffic stopped on the King Fahad/Magreb road, so go and take the 6th. Then then as I am going on the 6th I see traffic stopped on the King Fahad/Riyadh road.
The streets have turned to a mad house with this weather.
When checking out Mahmood’s blog I saw this post that Bahraini website have to register with the Ministry and will face legal actions based on the countries laws and regulations concerning the press.
I am mixed about this.
First I think it is a good thing for websites that consider themselves journalists and run a media site. This can have them considered a company and also some what protection. A lot of US bloggers are actually working on having their blogs considered a journalistic site, pharm and giving them equal status to print media companies.
Why it is bad, adiposity well it is forced and we know that the Bahraini Ministry is just doing this to keep track of the anonymous people that are posting about the problems and issues they are having with the government. Just look at what they did to people who were and could be found. So automatically their motives are not for the benefit of the people. Another thing what is considered a “Bahraini” website? Websites run by Bahrainis? Or what about expats living in Bahrain, will they be under this law? Or is it just for the websites they they dont like?
Our problem in the Gulf is that governments still think they can control what we read, watch and listen to. They act like they are waging an on going battle, but the truth is we already won the war. They have tried on numerous occasions to censor internet, ban satellites, black out magazines etc and that information still gets through to us. These aren’t black boxes that you can stop at borders, but ideas and thoughts that are going to shared, discussed and shared again.
Mahmood is setting up a good program for this situation in order to deal with it accordingly. And I pledge my full support to the Bahraini bloggers, this is not just their fight but ours as well. If this succeeds in Bahrain, who says we aren’t next?

Last night I had another attack of bad service at a food establishment.
First let me say how much I feel about service. To me it is one of the breakers or makers at a place that I wish to eat at and will frequent. What I consider good service is promptness, ailment respect and my main thing is acknowledgment. I hate it when I go to a place and they just ignore you, price and this is anytime during my visit.
For me when an establishment, like a restaurant where I am going to be giving them money for the services they render feels they can slack off or just ignore me makes me feel that they dont deserve my money. I get this feeling that I should just walk out and not even pay for anything.
This happened to me yesterday with Burj Al-Hamam. I felt the service was lousy cause they weren’t acknowledge me. They have this reputation for being a good place to eat with excellent food, decor etc. This I believe has gotten to their head and ignore their customers since they feel if they lose me someone else will take my place.
With their arrogance they forget that word of mouth is one of the greatest marketing tools, and bad reviews people remember more than the good ones.
So back to last night it was with Hagen Daaz at Souq Sharq. The service their just sucked, we were waiting outside for someone to notice us, nothing. My dad went inside to get their attention, they came out with a menu and then forgot about us. The waitress came around us, past us, but no look. Didn’t even bother asking if we were ready to order.
Now what is different between these to places was that Hagen Daaz is a simple place and the employees there just really dont know any better. So Even though I was annoyed and told them I couldn’t hold it against them. Burj Al-Hamam on the other hand is a reputable place and which strive to a better and higher level of service.

One such object that has really caught my eye and can’t wait to have it on myself is the Targets new perscription bottles. WOW, allergy Deborah Adler has designed it right! She took all the wrong thigns with the old bottles and made it useful functional and also look good. I just love how she created this system for the information. It really makes sense and very practical. My favorite part from it is that it is upside down:

There was also the side trip to Mutlaq on Wed to get high.
It was just one thing after another this past week, and since I been out of the office with these runs when I came in today I was confused on what to do. Need to write a todo list of stuff for this week and stuff that I need to complete from last week.
Need a vacation from vacation to actually catch up on stuff.
I let Rampurple borrow some books of Marshall McLuhan for her research paper.And I actually had a hard time giving them to her cause just opening them up and reading passages from the pages just makes me want to take them home and read them again.
McLuhan was a pioneer when it came to this stuff, decease his works really changed my outlook on media and content. I think it was cause he wrote it around the 60s and this was before internet and satelites and just his form of writing and the style of the book. He was really ahead of his time.

I was going to take the 5th ring and saw traffic stopped on the King Fahad/Magreb road, so go and take the 6th. Then then as I am going on the 6th I see traffic stopped on the King Fahad/Riyadh road.
The streets have turned to a mad house with this weather.
When checking out Mahmood’s blog I saw this post that Bahraini website have to register with the Ministry and will face legal actions based on the countries laws and regulations concerning the press.
I am mixed about this.
First I think it is a good thing for websites that consider themselves journalists and run a media site. This can have them considered a company and also some what protection. A lot of US bloggers are actually working on having their blogs considered a journalistic site, pharm and giving them equal status to print media companies.
Why it is bad, adiposity well it is forced and we know that the Bahraini Ministry is just doing this to keep track of the anonymous people that are posting about the problems and issues they are having with the government. Just look at what they did to people who were and could be found. So automatically their motives are not for the benefit of the people. Another thing what is considered a “Bahraini” website? Websites run by Bahrainis? Or what about expats living in Bahrain, will they be under this law? Or is it just for the websites they they dont like?
Our problem in the Gulf is that governments still think they can control what we read, watch and listen to. They act like they are waging an on going battle, but the truth is we already won the war. They have tried on numerous occasions to censor internet, ban satellites, black out magazines etc and that information still gets through to us. These aren’t black boxes that you can stop at borders, but ideas and thoughts that are going to shared, discussed and shared again.
Mahmood is setting up a good program for this situation in order to deal with it accordingly. And I pledge my full support to the Bahraini bloggers, this is not just their fight but ours as well. If this succeeds in Bahrain, who says we aren’t next?

Ah the tiredness of long days and work, drugs I really have been busy lately at work I usually find time during the day to blog about stuff or even just comment on random things, ailment but lately there hasn’t been time.
The past two weeks I haven’t really been in my office more than a total of 30 minutes. And that is if I walk in the office. It has been really quick in then a quick out, information pills mostly to sign papers or to pick or drop something off.
Something things I will maybe write more detail later
Marina Hotel – This place is NICE, the decor, location etc everything.
Cafe Blanc – The food is decent, but their presentation and service and location makes up for it.
Shateh Watiya (or how ever you spell it) – If you ever have some guests from out of town and want to eat Kuwaiti food just take them here. The food is bland compared to home cooked meals but then you can’t take them there. The use of the old Kuwaiti building gives it ambiance and makes them feel its traditional food.

City Planning – Basically Kuwait city needs to implode not explode
The Weather – I thought I would die yesterday with allergy attacks with the dust storm but luckily I had no severe sneeze attacks, either I got immune or this was a cleaner dust.
Digital SLRs – Been thinking of getting one lately, but quite annoyed with that whole preview system and there hasn’t been one that made me go WOW I want now!. I played wit the Nikon D70 and Canon 350, both nice and full of features. But all of my cameras are so manual that I love em. I really dont know how to use auto focus or any of that additional functions like auto rewind. My second gen Canon F1 that I got from my dad takes amazing pictures and I have lots of great lenses for it; same with my Minolta X570. I enjoy the process of it, focusing imaging what the picture will look like at different F-Stops and speeds then when I know I am ready, I hold my breath push the button and wait for that shutter to go snap. I think I will wait for the next gen of DSLRS I just dont feel that they are ready yet they still feel rough and not up to their full potential.

Just saw/heard the new Weezer single Beverly Hills and I am not happy with it. Weezer gone all emo and stuff and now taking their ritalin.
I was with some friend earlier in the night and we drove to Apple Bees by going on the 2nd ring road. Since I was driving I decided to bust out Connie and do some war driving. I didn’t find anything on that road expect RoRo.
I found RoRo on the traffic light between Qadsia and Yarmouk Mansouriya. I didn’t have time to connect to it since the light turned green. Later when we reached the 2nd Ring and Istiqlal Highway I found RoRo again and with a very strong signal. So I connected and found it was a computer to computer connection. It just confused me a signal that strong came was from Qadsia to Dasman. I think it could have been another laptop or even a PDA that was in the car next to me. I am going to be going on that road again later to see if I can find it.

I saw the movie Gacy about the serial killer John Wayne Gacy. This movie is indie and shows it in the filming. I think it was a intentional to make it feel that it was set in the 70s.
Basically the movie gives a different view of Gacy showing his life and the events that led to his capture. The movie wasn’t slow, hospital and not boring it was just eh. It was missing something the actors played their roles very well especially Mark Holton as Gacy. I think the direction and maybe the script needed some work. There was no suspense or anticipation. I really didn’t care either way if he killed anyone else or that he was going to get captured.
I think the movie’s focus was how teenage boys who get beaten by their dad or can’t communicate with their parents either become gay or serial killers. Cause the first scene was a teenage Gacy getting beaten up by his father on a fishing trip,. Then later in the movie you see him having heart to heart talks with teenage boys telling them to talk with their dads and that their parents love them and during these scenes you actually see him some what emotional.
So if you are into serial killers watch it, if you aren’t dont bother its not worth it.

I can’t believe its been 3 days without internet or any form of communication. I am dead tired and at the airport lounge waiting for my flight. Bangkok is amazing city, diet I have really fallen in love with it. Even with the pollution, the taxi drivers, and the traffic to me its what makes it a city.
There is this life and culture here that accepts the new but respects teh old ways. It really knows where it is, been and going. I have lots of faith in this place and country. My trip was sudden and kinda unexpected it just happened. I been so busy that past week at work and the 2 days proir to my trip that I totally forgot when I was leaving. That day I just wanted to go home take a shower and just go to sleep. Then found out that I had to leave, so when I got home showered packed my bags then left for airport it was just bam bam bam. Luckily being that tired allowed me to sleep on the plane. I just got to my seat had my blanket and pillow and passed out even before we took off and didn’t wake up until we landed.
Also the drive from airport to hotel I was sleeping. Really that whole day whenever I got the chance to rest my eyes I did. Didn’t care where I was I just needed my sleep.
We had a good business trip met with some the companies and old friends. I toured around the city at night and ate lots of sea food at the Sea Food restaurant.
This place is amazing their slogan is “if it swims we have it” and they do a good job of keeping stocked with fish. Two nights in a row we were there just stuffing myself with fish. Suprisingly I actually lost a kilo being here just a couple days. I think it was from eating the healthy food and walking around all day and eating regulary. Something I really need to do in Kuwait.
I am trying to capture my trip quickly before I forget but its just feels like I been here a week and really I been taking it to the extreme. Wake up and goto the meetings and stuff, then go back to the hotel rest for like an hour get up and go out to town dinner and stuff.
Let me try to list some stuff to talk about later:

Music got me some thai cds and need to get a CD player screw mp3s and ipod they aren’t practical when you travel and buy.
Food thai food rock, ’nuff said
People the people here are just friendly and filled with life you can tell by the way they eat. Where else in the wolrd you can find a place that offers a 7 course meal on the street.
Temples. Seeing places of offerings nad temples right next to high rises and 5 star hotels
Massages: they give good massages here different from teh swedis, they aim for certain points on the back and body. It amazes me how so many thai people get massages and massage parlors are located here. And I mean real massages not that wink wink nudge nudge stuff.
That reminds me everytime we took a cab I say in front and had to deal with the taxi driver showing me the same freaking brochure of “massage parlors” Every cab we took had the same freaking brochure atleast change them a bit and pass em around. They take them out of their pocket open them up and give you their speil. And its the same one, its like they are trained to say the same thing.
That reminds me of another thing, twice we went to the Seafood Restaurant and twice they tried to take us to a completely different one, it looked sea food, but wasn’t the orignal one. So keep your eyes out for that here.
Colors, lots of colors here its like they are trying to treat their eyes, the same way they treat their food.

The shopping here is really extensive with lots of choices and styles.
The night market. That was freaky we stepped in to this bar to cool down and rest our feet, leave and its a whole new street filled with small stands selling fake watches, dvds, tshrits. It was shocking when we went in it was empty sidewalk and leave to find a whole mall. The dvd system here is like Kuwaits you tell them what you want, he makes a call and tada he has your dvds ready to go. The prices here were just cheaper than Kuwait’s, but we didn’t haggle hard enough.
So glad to go home, but man I got work tomorrow as well get to home, shower sleep for an hour or 2 then get back to work. Ugh…
Grand Hyatt is a great hotel, great staff and security. I was impressed when I went back to my room and they were cleaning it and the guy asked me to use my card to make sure it was my room. That rocked. I love when they are secure like that.
We went to this mall and on the top fall was the Thai Knowledge Park this thing rocked my wolrd in so many ways. Its this palce for kids and teens to read books, and magazines get online, learn how to do computer stuff, experience a whole new world. The place is made for kids to learn how to express themselves. It is something we desperately need in Kuwait for our lost youth.
Have and idea for a project in Kuwait, finally got some of the strings out of it need to check on some stuff more info on it later.
Oh pictures took a good couple pics I hope, once I get them developed I will be sure to have them online.
Being away from the internet for 3 days is wierd but really freeing. After the 2nd day I was like eh. Even my phone was quiet no messages or calls which was also weird.
Sent the postcard to my mailing list. So those who read it be expecting somethig in the mail soon.
Um drained and tired.
Oh Bed great club, stylish and fun but the DJ there was SO BAD! Train wrecking all over the place and mixing song badly, we be dancing and grooving to one song, the bam switches to another, no mix or transfer, just switch. Very annoying was going to jump of his decks and then take him outside to beat him down.
I miss the good bass line.
Once I get home need to catch up on stuff I missed dont have many emails to reply too which is good, cause I am so bad on repling to them.
Anyway I am going to walk and stuff before the flight.
