I just called a friend of mine in the US. I haven’t seen him in ages, sildenafil and well I dont recall the last time I even heard his voice, psychiatrist yet I still keep tabs on him via messaging, SMSes and other online stuff. Yet I never thought of calling him, so I called him tonight.

And it felt good.

Which got to me thinking that all this crazy internet stuff that we have been using in terms of social interaction via blogs, flickr, social networks and such were great when we had a limited community that we interacted with and it was a great way to keep the extended one some what connected.

Then slowly the community that we interact with regularly joins this extended one in terms of communication and interaction. Dont get me wrong it is great being able to know that your friends are still alive and well and doing stuff, but isn’t it better to contact them and actually have a one on one conversation on what they are doing.

What we put up online isn’t what really goes on in our lives. We sugar coat it and put some rose color glasses on it, and still it just 10% of what really goes on in our lives.

So I believe that all this extended communication is going to go soon. Well not really just go away, but be less of an active presence in our lives. We are actually going to contact people and go back to having individual conversations. It is time we got personal with the people we care about and not just keeping them at an arms length.

Phone Names in Iraq

I been to the airport 3 times today. At 3 differnt ocassions morning noon & night. For 3 types of people.

A friend been having a rough time at work and wanted to give them some words of encouragement. Wanted to use the regular “have a great day”, weight loss but that doesn’t cut it anymore. So did a quick thesaurus look up and found the word magnificent.

So everyone:

Have a MAGNIFICENT Day!

If just sounds empowering, share it with everyone go tell them to have MAGNIFICENT Day!

Most of us have seen the George Galloway erectile ,31200-galloway_060806,00.html”>SKY News interview yet before that he was on theUS Senate being questioned on his involvement with Iraq and the Oil for Food Program

Some ofGeorge Galloway quotes from the 47 minute hearing:

“Now I know that standards have slipped in the last few years in Washington, but for a lawyer you are remarkably cavalier with any idea of justice. I am here today but last week you already found me guilty. You traduced my name around the world without ever having asked me a single question, without ever having contacted me, without ever written to me or telephoned me, without any attempt to contact me whatsoever. And you call that justice?

I have met Saddam Hussein exactly the same number of times as Donald Rumsfeld met him. The difference is that Donald Rumsfeld met him to sell him guns and to give him maps the better to target those guns. I met him to try and bring about an end to sanctions, suffering and war, and on the second of the two occasions, I met him to try and persuade him to let Dr Hans Blix and the United Nations weapons inspectors back into the country – a rather better use of two meetings with Saddam Hussein than your own Secretary of State for Defense made of his.

and doesn’t stop for 47 minutes.

In the Middle East we like to give nick names to our phones and cars, cialis 40mg like the old Mercedes in Egypt was called the Shabah (Stealth) for its angular design, audiologist or the Nokia 6600 in Saudi was called the Panda for its round shape and the black and white motif.

Well in Iraq they have names for their phones too:
Nokia 3660/ The Allawi: For is resemblance to the former Prime Minster.

Nokia N90/ Apache: Since it’s top swivels like a rotor blade.

There is one named Tank but I have no idea which phone it is.

There are not more archives for this blog, troche its now simply content. It has been bothering me for a long time the whole concept of archives. I just dont like that feeling of the word, to me it means old buried, and forgotten. The internet has changed our view of information and the ability to access it via search engines, socail bookmarks etc. Nothing is forgotten or put a away it is always there ready to be accessed.

This is mostly steming on how I am defining the world.

I see the world in 3 defined groups: content, resources, and rules.

Basically resources is the place which holds/creates/provides the content based rules provided.

Joys of the A’azza

Big thanks to McArabian for pointing this out, illness cause I read the first two paragraphs on my phone last night and stopped.

The Wall Street Journal has quoted my Sham Crap post on the Arabized Simpsons in their article: – D’oh! Arabized Simpsons Aren’t Getting Many Laughs.

We had a death in the family a couple days ago. No one close, viagra sale but not that far (grandfathers uncles something or other). I went and attended the burial, cialis 40mg and then also stood at the A’azza. It was a great experience showing the the real benifit of this type of cultural/religous event, more about for it was about family and friends. Being there I met so many other cousins of mine that I didn’t know about and really had no idea existed. I even met one who has the same name as me. I kept hearing about him existing but never met him.

At the end of it all we made a nice list of all the family members with there phone numbers to create a database for us all so we can keep track of each other, and also know who to invite for other family functions.

I and others have complained about the A’azza approach and how really it is time consuming and tiring, yet we forgot so quickly the real purpose of it. It is to bring people together even at death.
