Well I got my car finally. Just a mess of paperwork and other random stuff delayed me from getting it
before I left.
It is a Lexus LX 470 and it is amazing.
The first thing I did after breaking the eggs was remove the third seat from the car. I dont plan to h
ave anyone back there and I think they look dumb just laying there. Then I put a sticker (pic to follo
w) that I been meaing to put on my frist car.
I still haven’t removed the plastic protecting it, youth health I will do that in the morning with reading the manu
al on the computer system. Need to figure out how to use that navigation and other settings on that th
ing.
One thing that I did find out and very excited about is the Bluetooth handsfree system with my Sony Er
icsson P910.
When I asked about that in the dealership and tried it out on the test car orignally it didn’t work wi
th my phone. The salesperson said for some reason it doesn’t work with that type of phone that I had t
o get a Nokia or something.
It depressed me a bit but I still wanted that car either way and was thinking of using some other phon
e as my bluetooth hookup just for the car. So tonight when showing it off to a friend and explaining h
ow it didn’t work I got it working.
I changed the pin code to 1111 and the name to something else besides “handsfree”. And went through th
e normal setup featuers and have it hang on the connect part on the screen after my phone completed th
e bonding.
Yet on my phone I saw the Head phones on the bluetooth which meant that it could talk to a bluetooth h
andsfree. So I made a call and thats when the screen shows “connected to phone”. And the speaker syste
m was activated to the dialing.
It seems that the Lexus Bluetooth needs to be actived by a connection by the phone. And for some reaso
n the P800/P900/P910i doesn’t do a reconnect to compete the connection. So when I did that call afterw
ards the reconnect was made and the Lexus regonized it and tada I was making calls.
I haven’t done the complete sync yet, price wanted to wait to make a backup first to make sure it doesn’t de
lete any of my contacts. So if that works like it should I will be so high tech I will be so focused o
n my screen and not on the road in trying to make phone calls!
(The extra long post on how to set it up is for other Lexus and Sony Ericsson Owners who been facing t
hat problem and haven’t founda fix yet)
