Just drove to the city & the Liberation tower looked different. Seems they added new lights on the sau
cer. It looks pretty good a lot brighter. Hopefully sooh we can go up there & look down at Kuwait.

If anyone is familiar with the Bida road you know how a death trap that place is. Especialyl when you
are trying to make a U-Turn into the SAS. You might as well wait forever cause the cars coming down th
at road are zooming by its tough to find that space to turn unless you are in a sports car.
Well yesterday I was driving down that road from Messila and noticed some nice new speed bumps. I was
great it is about time. You would expect these speed bump be placed just before the SAS/Palms so that
cars making the U-Turn have time and space to move, rx as well as the ones trying to leave them.
You guessed wrong, noun they placed them about a kilometer from the SAS/Palms. Where there isn’t any U-Turn
s or any place that gets a lot of entry/exit traffic. And gives you enough time to speed up.
Yet supringly the speed bumps are located right at some new houses that are being built there, and now
the entry and exit for those places are very quick and safe. I wonder who those houses belong too..

Saw this link at BoingBoing about how they are enforcing dress codes at a mall in Cincinnati. If
you are not in the proper dress code they give you a yellow card explaining what the malls dress code
is and then escort you out.
I would love to see this at Marina Mall. It is like a freak show going there at times seeing what not
to wear with what, anesthetist
and how not to wear something. Someone needs to go there and regulate. Imagine a se
curity gaurd going to a bunch of guys and girls just wearing the wrong thing and doing the football re
feree yellow card on them. Then if they go back ther again giving them a red card and kick them out.

This is a counter to Pinks post on female gaaza
The mens doesn’t have all of the accessorizes that women have; its much more simpler and casual. When
you go to the gazza you see family, treatment friends and friends of friends coming to pay their respects to th
e family. Pretty much it is one big get together where you see people you haven’t seen in a while and
say hi to them and catch up. The deceased acts like a connector bringing everyone together in a way sh
owing you the value of friends and family during your life.
Dress code is to look presentable, dont go in there in shirt and shorts.
All I ever worry about when I go to one is making sure I have a nicely pressed ghotra.

Was thinking about the Liberation tower and all the other large buildings we have in Kuwait and the on
es I been to around the world. It seems that most developed countries have a landmark sky scraper that
is in the center of every city where people can go and and look at the city. Such as Seattle with the
Space Needle, unhealthy Toronto with their tower, troche London has that ferris wheel etc.
These structures bring lots of tourists and attractions around it. People come from all over to pay a
premium fee to go and look at the city and take pictures and say “ooh and ahh”. Yet in Kuwait we have
none of that.
It seems like the goverment doesn’t want to show off our city afraid people will notice the faults and
problems. I dont understand it, when I go to any office building in Kuwait that is high up I love loo
king at the city. It gives me pride and joy to see all around Kuwait. You notice everything the old an
d new side by side. It gives you a glimpse on how the city has grown over the years and is still growi
ng.
Kuwait needs to fix up the Liberation tower and make the saucer to a nice restaurant or coffee shop pl
ace. Same with the water towers, the coffee shop up there is depressing, it could be a great place to
just go and hang out. I haven’t be to the restaurant there in ages but last I recall it wasn’t somethi
ng to recommend beyond the view.
We have a lot of great locations and landmarks that are not being used to their full potential. We are
working on the water front and fixing that area up with a new sidewalk and shops and places to eat, b
ut they dont have an cultural or artistic merit. Though I will leave that discussion for another day.
they do open it , 25-26/2 of each year for the public
